The goal is simple: players must minimize the number of points in their hands when another player goes out while forming valid sets and runs. A run is made up of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, whereas a set issatta ka king made up of three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. A draw pile is created from the remaining cards after players are dealt a predetermined number of cards at the start of each round, typically seven or ten. Each player takes turns selecting a card from the discard or draw pile, after which they discard one card from their hand. The round is over when one player successfully melds all of their cards into sets and runs that are valid.
