It takes precise timing & observation to bluff effectively. An opponent may make erroneous decisions as a result of a well-timed discard, which gives the impression that you are not interested in particular suits or ranks. Bluffing should be used sparingly, though, as overuse of this strategy can become predictable & backfire if opponents figure it out.
